Not only is Hawaii the name of a chain of islands in the Pacific is also the 50th state in America, the main island is often called the big Island of Hawaii. Although each island as its own name like Kauai and Hilo, the chain is generally named after the biggest one, which is Hawaii. However most islanders refer to this island as big Island Hawaii which is the name of the state. It doesn't matter what you call the islands, because you'll find plenty of things to do and your Hawaiian vacation.

The Big Island Hawaii knows that they are home to some of the most unique creatures and plants in the world. They are trying to preserve this with the growth of eco-tourism activities. This is where you go to observe nature and disturb it as little as possible. Kayaking or sailing is less obtrusive on nature than renting a speedboat, for example. There are many places to hike, bird watch, bike, ride horses or go camping. You can even go snorkeling to get close to amazingly colored fish.
