Hawaii Beaches Are Perfect For Tourists And Sports Enthusiasts.

Hawaii beaches are both beautiful and clean and this encourages both tourists and sports people to use them, in fact there are many songs written about Hawaii's beaches. These beautiful sands are often used as a backdrop for many feature movies, the beach most often used is on the island of Oahu and is called the Waikiki Beach. This is where you will see lots of surfers who are there because of the large waves, although there are larger waves on the northern side of the island and this is where many of the world class surfing competitions take place.

There eight principal islands that comprise the island chain, with Nihau being the smallest inhabited island with some of the more untouched Hawaii beaches in the state. Many have chosen to make their home on islands such as Oahu, Molokai and Lanai to be further away from the tourist crowd that has supplied the state with about a fourth of its annual gross domestic products since becoming a state in 1959.

One of the things tourists notice when visiting Hawaii are the large rock seawalls builds of shore around the Hawaii beaches. The walls are built to protect swimmers from the dangerous fish that swim in the warm waters, and also to protect the beaches from erosion during bad weather conditions. Barracuda and sharks are very common and are often seen swimming in these waters so these walls keep them away from the swimmers.

Evidence of volcanic origins are seen on some beaches:

This island group has been formed over millions of years of volcanic eruptions and many lava flows are evident throughout the islands in the chain. Some of the Hawaii beaches are of black sand, thought to be from thousands of years of oceanic activity on the lava that flowed into the water. One of the most famous mountains in Hawaii, Diamondhead is a large lava mountain, readily visible for the Hawaii beaches at Waikiki.

Off the shores of the big island, Hawaii there are beaches surrounding most of the island, but these beaches are not as good for tourism as those on Oahu or even Maui, despite the islands being smaller. Most of the sugar cane and pineapple industries of Hawaii is located on the big island.

There is some breathtaking scenery on these islands, such as the northern cliffs of Molokai which offer amazing views, however, because of the landscape some Hawaii beaches on the islands are not accessible to many tourists. Although this shouldn't be a problem as there are many more beautiful beaches on offer in Hawaii.
