In order to have a venue of Scottish gathering and games the Hawaiian Scottish Association was created on 1981. This gave the Scottish community in Hawaii to attend activities and games that will celebrate their culture and heritage.
In order to have a venue of Scottish gathering and games the Hawaiian Scottish Association was created on 1981. This gave the Scottish community in Hawaii to attend activities and games that will celebrate their culture and heritage. To celebrate the heritage and history of the Scots, on April 4, 2009 Hawaiian Scottish Association will have their 28th Annnual Hawaiian Scottish Festival. This festival will be held at The Willows 901 Hausten Street from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. You can enjoy the beer sampling, Scotch Tasting, all-you-can-eat Pupus, Scottish Music by the local and national artists, Bagpipers and Scottish Dancers. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Liquor Collection, Tamuras Kaimuki and the Wine Shop. For ticket purchased in advance for adults it is $25.00 and for children under the age of 12 it is $15.00. But for tickets bought at the door the cost is #30.00. Games and Competition is one of the activities that you can join or attend. This activity is fashion from the time when there were still kings and chiefs in Scotland. The materials or weapon used in these games are the ordinary daily materials used. From these materials the games like caber toss, stone put, hammer throw, weight lift and weight toss was created. The games will start on April 4, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. this is open for men and women. On April 5, 2009 the masters will start 9:00 A.M., for the housewives at 12:00 noon and for the Kilted mile will follow after the housewives games. The entrance fee for athletes when paid in advance until March 15 is $25.00 but when paid at the door the entrance fee will be $30.00. For the housewives and Kilted mile the entrance fee is free but will require a waiver. Author:
